SciGirls: Salamander Tales in Tennessee explore Great Smoky Mountains National Park—the salamander capital of the world. Isabelle, Kaylee, and Ada observe salamanders and collect data to help rangers study the health of the park’s ecosystem.

Having produced lots of television, I often get asked to name my favourite to work on and I often pick SciGirls. Being offered the chance to direct and produce this episode of SciGirls was a special honour, particularly as I’d worked as an Associate Producer a decade before. This time around I continued the special access relationship with the National Park Service who collaborated with SciGirls, structured the science investigation, cast an enthusiastic trio of girls and directed with a great crew on location. Go STEM!
